Culture and Arts
"The creative energy of the Sundance
Institute and its legendary
Film Festival - as well as the interactive Artist-in-Residence program - adds a distinctive privilege for both owners and guests
at Silver Star that they won't find at any other resort development," explained
Murphy. "Now, in addition to enjoying unparalleled ski access
and superior accommodations, our owners and guests can be part
of a privileged artistic community, anchored by the Sundance Institute."

Sundance Institute
While
Park City has long enjoyed the presence of the Sundance Film Festival,
held every January, Silver Star is excited to facilitate the Sundance Institute
in becoming a year-round participant in the already established Park City arts
community. "Hosting the corporate headquarters of the Sundance Institute
at Silver Star, right on the slopes of Park City Mountain Resort, will bridge
the long-perceived gap between skiing and the Film Festival - and really the
arts in Park City," said Murphy. "We feel privileged to be providing
an avenue for greater coordination between the local ski and arts industries."
Spiro Arts Artist-in-Residence
program
In addition to hosting the Sundance Institute, Silver
Star - in collaboration with the University of Utah College of
Humanities - will be home to a summertime Artist-in-Residence program,
which offers Silver Star residents and visitors classes, lectures
and forums for exploration of the arts. The restored historic
mining buildings will provide the Artist-in-Residence
program a facility for office and studio space, as
well as residences to a small number of artists during the spring
and summer months. During the winter months, the Sundance Institute
will utilize the live/work spaces for its seasonal Festival staff.
